1.3 MILLION TREES PLANTED WORLD WIDE!!

What a wonderful achievement that within 60 days over 1.3 million trees have been planted by Lions Clubs worldwide. It is so exciting to be part of this project with such a dynamic group. How many will we have done by the end of one year.

We -Tamborine Village Lions Club- are taking up the challenge to contribute. Already there have been 46 trees have been planted by members.

We are planning a community planting day on OCTOBER 30th to plant over a hundred trees. We will planting these in Tamborine Park and there will be a BBQ breakfast. Many members are contributing their time and equipment - so it looks like it will be a great success
.KEEP THIS DAY FREE FOR A FUN AND PRODUCTIVE MORNING.

In preparation for the event a group of enthusiatic Lions turned up on Sunday 25th September to "clean up" the park. Armed with secateurs, saws, whippersnippers, a mower and a bob cat, a band of busy workers created a deafening roar. Grass was cleared from underneath trees. Strangling vines were pulled of the trees and spiky bushes scratched unsuspecting legs as they were cut down. The mower whizzed at lightnening speed in and out and up and down while the bob cat was busy levelling a large hole and disposing of the debris. What a difference this effort has made.
All were rewarded with a sausage sizzle and a welcome cup of tea.

Now the park is ready to be further decorated with some colourful native trees.

SO BE THERE OR BE SQUARE - ON 30th!!
